Accessibility

QuizCademy is used by students of every ability, and we want learning here to work for everyone. We design and build with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as our guide, and we treat accessibility as ongoing work rather than a one-time checkbox.

Keyboard navigation

The entire experience can be operated with a keyboard — no mouse required.

• A "Skip to content" link is the first thing you reach with the Tab key on every page, so you can jump straight past the header to the main content.
• When you move between pages, focus moves to the top of the new content automatically, so you continue from the content rather than tabbing back through the menu each time.
• Interactive elements — links, buttons, and form fields — are reachable and operable in a logical order.
• A clear focus indicator shows which element you're on as you move with the keyboard.

Screen readers

We build with semantic HTML and clear labelling so assistive technology can describe the page accurately.

• Headings are structured so you can navigate a page by its sections.
• Controls carry meaningful names, and decorative icons are hidden from screen readers so they don't add noise.
• When you navigate to a new page, its heading and title update and are announced, so it's clear where you've landed.

Adjustable text size

You can increase or decrease text size using the appearance control, choosing between Compact, Default, Large, and Extra Large. Your choice is remembered on your next visit.

Light and dark themes

You can switch between light and dark themes to suit your eyes and environment, and your preference is remembered across visits.

Reduced motion

If you've turned on "reduce motion" in your device or browser settings, we honor it — animations and transitions across the site are minimized or removed, so content changes without movement.

Readable, consistent design

We use clear typography, generous spacing, and color combinations chosen for legibility, applied consistently across the site so patterns stay predictable as you move around.

Accessible forms

Forms — including the job application on our Careers pages — use visible labels, group related questions, and give clear, specific messages when something needs your attention, so you always know what's required and what to fix.

Ongoing work

Accessibility is never finished. We continue to test with keyboards and assistive technology, fix issues we find, and improve as our product grows. Some areas may not yet fully meet our goals — if you run into a barrier, we want to hear about it.
